1.Description

This release provides updated System BIOS(1.0.0053) for the following
enhancements of NEC Express5800/120Bb-6.

  - The following problem was corrected
When using Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5.5 later and Red Hat Enterprise Linux
6.0 later, the kernel dump fails uncommonly.
(This phenomenon occurs only in the system attached 1000BASE-T(2ch)Adapter
     (N8403-017,-021) or 1000BASE-T(4ch)Adapter(N8403-020,-022))

Attention:
  - To prevent a system failure, please read this document carefully and follow
the procedure for successful update. Should your system malfunctions or is
powered off due to an unplanned event during update (for example, power
blackout or cutoff, lightening, and noise), the system may be damaged and
fails to operate normally. In this case, any remedial measures shall be
    taken at your expense.

  - Before considering the implementation of Windows Server(R) 2008, be sure to
refer to the Hardware Information located in the NEC Express5800 Series
Windows Server(R) 2008 Information pages for hardware configurations.

  - To use Windows Server(R) 2008, read thoroughly the Manual located in the
NEC Express5800 Series Windows Server(R) 2008 Information pages prior to
installation, so that no erroneous operation will be conducted.

  - When Windows(R) BitLocker(TM) function is set to "Enabled", update the
system BIOS after making the function "Disabled". Then make the function "
Enabled" after update and reboot of the system. If you update the system
BIOS without making the function "Disabled", you may need the recovery
password when you boot the system.

  - When you use Hyper-V Ver.1.0 of Windows Server(R) 2008, do not select "ACPI
C2" in the Processor C3 Report selection menu in the SETUP menu. If you
select "ACPI C2", it could result in much-delay of the system time display
    on the Guest OS.

  - This software does not support virtualization environment.

4. Notes

(1) If the BIOS update tool does not start as described in "2. BIOS update
procedure", a message may appear indicating the reason why the tool has
    not started:

 (a) BIOS Update has already done.
Please take out BIOS update media and reboot.

The BIOS version of the current system is the same as the update version,
     and does not require updating.
In this case, "Failed to open file SYMBOLIC.TXT" is displayed but there is
     no problem.

 (b) This BIOS is NEW. Don't need BIOS update.

The BIOS version of the current system is newer than the update version,
and the functions equivalent to those included in the update have already
been applied to the system, and does not require updating.

 (c) System Type Unmatched !!

This message will appear when attempts are made to apply the BIOS update to
     inapplicable models.
Confirm "Models" and "BIOS versions" in "2. Applicable models".

 (d) "Invalid BIOS data" or "BIOS data unmatched!!"

Either of these messages will appear when the data contained in the "BIOS
update data" floppy disk is invalid. Be certain to use "BIOS update data"
floppy disks that are free from defects.

 (e) "cmoschg Error!" or "keychk Error!"

This message will appear when attempts are made to apply the BIOS update to
     inapplicable models.
Confirm "Models" and "BIOS versions" in "2. Applicable models".
