1.About the software

 "N8103-149/150/151/152/160/161/167/168/171/172/173/174,N8403-059/F059,
N8404-007/F007 RAID Controller Windows Driver" ("the Software") is a driver 
(megasas2.sys) that is required when using N8103-149/150/151/152/160/161/
167/168/171/172/173/174,N8403-059/F059,N8404-007/F007 in the following NEC 
Express5800 server.

2.Models
 Refer to NEC Express5800 Download Site.

3.Driver install procedures

 Perform the following steps to install the driver.

 -Confirm the version of driver:
  
 [Windows Server 2003R2]

  (1) Boot the system and log on it with administrator.

  (2) Run Device Manager.

  (3) Click [SCSI and RAID controllers] and open the properties of 
      the following controller.

           "LSI MegaRAID SAS ...."

  (4) Click [Driver] tab and click [Driver Details].

  (5) Click megasas2.sys or msas2k3.sys and confirm version of [File Version].
      When the version is under 6.600.27.00 , you need to update 
      RAID Controller driver.
      When the version is 6.600.27.00 or more, you don't need to update 
      RAID Controller driver.
 
      *Note*
       When the version is under 5.2.116.32(x86) or 5.2.116.64(x64), 
       you need to execute the following update before execute this update.

 [Windows Server 2008/2008R2/2012/2012R2]

  (1) Boot the system and log on(sign in) it with administrator.

  (2) Run Device Manager.

  (3) Click [Storage controllers] and open the properties of the following 
      controller.

           "LSI MegaRAID SAS ...."

  (4) Click [Driver] tab and click [Driver Details].

  (5) Click megasas2.sys and confirm version of [File Version].
      When the version is under 6.600.27.00, you need to update 
      RAID Controller driver.
      When the version is 6.600.27.00 or more, you don't need to update 
      RAID Controller driver.

 -Install the driver:

  (1) Download 422137-A02_xxxxxx.zip(xxxxx is an expression of arbitrary numbers)
      to any directory. (for example, "C:\TEMP" folder) 

  (2) Unzip 422137-A02_xxxxxx.zip(xxxxx is an expression of arbitrary numbers).
      Note: In the folder where you unzipped, do not use folder names 
            that contain space(" ").

  (3) Execute Update.vbs(unziped files) using an appropriate tool 
      such as Explorer.

  (4) The following message appears. Click [Yes].
      [Do you want to setup the LSI MegaRAID driver?]

  (5) The following message appears. Reboot the system after click [OK].
      [This setup finished successfully. Please restart the system.]

  (6) After reboot the system, confirm the version following procedure.

    [Windows Server 2003R2]
      1) Run Device Manager.
      2) Click [SCSI and RAID controllers] and open the properties of the
         following controller.

            "LSI MegaRAID SAS ...."

      3) Click [Driver] tab and click [Driver Details].
      4) Click megasas2.sys.
      5) Confirm to the version of [File Version] is 6.600.27.00.

    [Windows Server 2008/2008R2/2012/2012R2]
      1) Run Device Manager.
      2) Click [Storage controllers] and open the properties of the
         following controller.

            "LSI MegaRAID SAS ...."

      3) Click [Driver] tab and click [Driver Details].
      4) Click megasas2.sys.
      5) Confirm to the version of [File Version] is 6.600.27.00.

4.Notes
 In Windows Server 2003 R2, When the version of megasas2.sys(msas2k3.sys) is 
under 5.2.116.32(x86) or 5.2.116.64(x64), you need to execute the following 
update before execute this update.

5.Update history
  Aug. 2014
   <Bug fix>
   1) When the RAID controller driver executes commands (such as READ_CAPACITY), 
      the command terminates abnormally in rare cases and the following problems 
      might occur.

      -In the command(READ_CAPACITY), You can't get the size of the logical drive.
      -When this problem occurs on a logical drive on which the OS is installed, 
       STOP error occurs.

   2) When you execute following operations by Universal RAID Utility, 
      Event log of "raidsrv ID:801" may be recorded.
      [Operations]
       -changing configuration of RAID controller 
       -creating or deleting logical drives
       -making a Hot Spare disk 
       -executing initialization, rebuild, and consistency check to a logical drive.
       And so on.

       Description : It became unable to manage the RAID System due to a fatal 
                     error on the operating system.
