Procedure for Installing the Module in the Clustering Environment

This document describes the installation procedure of the SigmaSystemCenter
Update Module (SSC0305-0101.zip) for a clustering environment.

The installation procedure assumes the case of using EXPRESSCLUSTER X 3.3.
If you are using other clustering product or EXPRESSCLUSTER with other version,
refer to the outline of the installation procedure-"Flow of Installing the
Module in the Clustering Environment"-to install the SigmaSystemCenter
Update Module to your environment.

<Note>

 - When installing SSC component modules in the Terminal Server environment,
   see "Procedures for Installing the Module in the Terminal Server
   Environment" in the Install.txt.
   (In Windows Server 2008 R2 and subsequent releases, Terminal Services is
   renamed Remote Desktop Services.)

 - All updating modules of SSC components, which were installed in the original
   management server, should be applied. Partial updating is not supported.

 - Do not stop resources that synchronize with the registry during applying the
   update module.
   If you apply the module in this condition, the applied module may not work
   properly because the registry keys may be rolled back to the state before
   applying the module when the resources are started.

 - Do not restart the system when the installer of the module requests restart
   the system by a message. In this case, you must: (1) wait until the
   installation is finished, (2) start the Cluster service (see "(10) Starting
   the Cluster Service (Resume) (For Active Servers)"), and (3)
   restart the Cluster system.
   If you restart the system while the Cluster service is in the suspend state,
   the registry keys that synchronize with the resources may be rolled back to
   the state before applying the module.

*******************************************************************************

The detailed installation procedure which assumes the case of using
EXPRESSCLUSTER X 3.3 will be explained below.

===============================================================================
1. Before Starting Installation (Unzipping the Software)
===============================================================================

* Perform this operation both on an active server and standby server.

---------------

This software includes the update modules of the following SSC components:

 - SystemProvisioning

Unzip this software with the following procedure.

* Copy and save the software (SSC0305-0101.zip) in the working
  folder, for example, C:\Temp, in the local drive other than a mirror drive on
  both the active and standby servers.

[Notes on Unzipping a .zip File]

  Before unzipping a .zip file, see the notes described in "Notes on Unzipping
  a .zip File" in Release.txt.

 (1) Unzipping the software
     Unzip this software (SSC0305-0101.zip) in an arbitrary folder
     (working folder) in the local drive (C: or D:) both on the active
     server and standby server by right-clicking the file on Explorer
     and clicking [Extract All].

===============================================================================
2. Before Starting Installation (Backing Up the Registry)
===============================================================================

* Perform this operation on an active server and a standby server.

* The following shows that how to back up the registry that synchronize with
  the resources, so that you can restore the registry if it is broken during
  the installation.

---------------

 (1) Create a folder as a working folder in the local drive of an active server
     and a standby server, and then create a folder, "Before_Update," in the
     working folder. Copy "SSC_RegBackup.bat" in the "SSC0305-0101"
     folder in the unzipped folder (see "1. Before Starting Installation
     (Unzipping the Software)").

 (2) Run "SSC_RegBackup.bat" in the active server and the standby server.

     (working folder)\Before_Update\SSC_RegBackup.bat

 (3) The following files are created in "(working folder)\Before_Update\."

     SSCREG_DeploymentManager.reg
     SSCREG_DeploymentManager_DB.reg
     SSCREG_ESMAlertMan_BaseSetting.reg
     SSCREG_ESMAlertMan_Socket.reg
     SSCREG_ESMSM.reg
     SSCREG_NVBASE.reg
     SSCREG_PVM.reg
     SSCREG_Services_Nvbase.reg

===============================================================================
3. Before Starting Installation (Suspending the Cluster Service)
===============================================================================

* Perform this operation on an active server.
* This operation is described on the assumption that you use SigmaSystemCenter
  on an active server.

Before proceeding, you must suspend the Cluster service to prevent a failover
during the installation as the following:

---------------

While installing this software, the services of the SSC components are stopped.
If consoles or tools of these components are open, end them.
You also need to end and close all applications, such as a Web browser.

 (1) Log on as Administrator to the active server on which the operation
     is to be performed.

 (2) Launch a browser, and enter "http://localhost:29003/" in the URL box to
     start Cluster Manager.

 (3) Click [Service] at the top of the Manager window, and click
     [Suspend Cluster] on the pull-down menu.

 (4) The confirmation dialog box appears. Click [OK] to suspend the service.

     * This process takes for a while.

 (5) Click [OK] if the Error or Warning dialog box appears after a while.

 (6) Check that [Suspended] is displayed in the left pane of the Manager
     window.

===============================================================================
4. Before Starting Installation (Stopping the Monitoring of Monitored Services)
===============================================================================

* Perform this operation on an active server.

In this installation, the SSC service is restarted. Thus, before proceeding,
you must disable monitoring services to prevent interruption of the
installation by detecting the restart event as the following:

---------------

 (1) Click the [Start] button, click [All Programs], click
     [ExpressCluster Server], and click [Task Manager].

 (2) Stop all the services displayed under [Application / Service Name].
     Set all the displayed services to "Not monitoring" one by one.

     (How to set a service to "Not monitoring")

      - Right-click a displayed service name.
      - Click [Stop Monitoring], and click [OK] on the displayed dialog box.
      - Confirm that the [Monitoring Status] of the monitored service changes
        to "Not monitoring".

 (3) Confirm that all the services are set to "Not monitoring" and end Task
     Manager.

===============================================================================
5. Before Starting Installation (Stopping the Services)
===============================================================================

* Perform this operation on an active server.

---------------

1. SystemProvisioning

   (1) Checking the version of SystemProvisioning
       Check the version of your product with the following procedure.

       1) Start a Web browser.
